A TASER has been used for the first time in Cambridgeshire during the arrest of a man on suspicion of attempted murder.The weapon, which works by firing barbed probes and temporarily disabling suspects with a 50,000 volt charge, was used by officers last night when they detained a 35-year-old man in connection with a serious assault in Peterborough.

Officers in Ipswich first used a taser on a suspect back in October last year.
