A variety show is being put on at the Manor Ballroom, Ipswich, on Sunday to boost fundraising for the world wars' cenotaph in Christchurch Park.
The monument had the names of 620 local servicemen who died during the Second World War added earlier this year after a massive fundraising campaign led by Peter Thompson, chairman of the Ipswich Royal British Legion.
There is still clearing and restoration work to be done and, while the project aims to be finished by Remembrance Day, the fund is still £5,000 short.
Last gasp fundraising is being done to complete the memorial, which includes the names of the 1,500 victims of the First World War.
Mr Thompson said: "This is a memorial for the people of Ipswich and I hope it is now something they can be proud of."
The variety show, featuring entertainer Ron Markwell and friends, will run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Tickets (£5) are available from Ipswich Tourist Information Centre, Mr Thompson on 01473 747983 or on the door.
