RAM raiders caused more than £9,000 of damage to a Suffolk store today after ploughing into it to try and steal a cash machine.
The incident happened at around 3am at the Co-op store, in Norwich Road, Claydon. The offenders attempted to remove a cashpoint machine from the scene but failed.
A police spokesman said: "A green Izuzu Trooper was reversed into the front door and a strap was tied to a cash machine and attached to the rear of the vehicle.
"The offenders then attempted to remove the cash machine but were unable to do so. They then left the scene in a K-registered red Rover Vitesse."
It is not known how many offenders were involved in the raid.
