POLICE have described the situation on the A14 as "traffic chaos" after a two-car smash on the Orwell Bridge.The accident happened at around 5.30pm on the westbound carriageway.

The accident happened at around 5.30pm on the westbound carriageway.

Two ambulances attended the scene and one person has been taken to Heath Road hospital. It is unknown how serious their injuries are.

A police spokesman said: "We have had to close the entire westbound carriageway to allow the clean up operation to go ahead, and there are also long tailbacks on the eastbound carriageway as people are slowing down to see what's going on."
