A FATHER-of-two has avoided a prison sentence after being found not guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Richard Newport, 36, of Lincoln Avenue, Saxmundham, was found guilty of a lesser charge of careless driving at Ipswich Crown Court.
He was given seven penalty points, fined £750 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
Afterwards, he spoke of his sorrow for his part in the accident, which killed 17-year-old Sam Kerry, of Debenham, on December 11 last year.
