A TRIO of youths with 60 previous convictions between them have been sent into custody for beating up and robbing a young man in a YMCA room.
Daniel Allen 17, of Undercliff Road, Felixstowe, David Elson 17, of Pearcroft Road, Ipswich and Christopher Long, 15, of Selkirk Road, Ipswich pleaded guilty to robbery.
Hugh Vass, mitigating for Long, asked Judge John Holt to slap an order on the case preventing the publication of the giggling defendants' identities.
However, Judge Holt allowed The Evening Star to identify them, saying each defendant had appalling records and it was in the public interest for their names to be publicised.
