A MOTORIST was fighting for his life today after being seriously injured in a crash on the Orwell Bridge which brought traffic to a standstill.A red Audi saloon lay smashed on the eastbound A14 near Nacton after it was hit by a lorry at around 6am.
A MOTORIST was fighting for his life today after being seriously injured in a crash on the Orwell Bridge which brought traffic to a standstill.
A red Audi saloon lay smashed on the eastbound A14 near Nacton after it was hit by a lorry at around 6am.
After the impact, the H-registered car appeared to have been dragged sideways some 250 yards. There were reports that the driver had been thrown from the car and hit by other vehicles.
The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital with very serious injuries while police tried to contact his family.
Hold-ups and diversions brought traffic chaos in Ipswich, causing disruption to businesses and schools.
