The Labour MP was stunned into silence when The Evening Star informed him of Westbourne High School's shocking £600,000 budget deficit.
And Mr Mole is taking his concerns to the highest levels – raising the issue with increasingly beleaguered education secretary Charles Clarke.
He said: "I have been speaking to people close to Charles Clarke and making the point that clearly
something has gone awry.
"But I would certainly view it more as a cock-up than a conspiracy."
