POWER giant Southern Electric today apologised to war veterans who were outraged by an "insensitive" and "offensive" advert which appeared just two days before Remembrance Sunday.
Members of the Royal British Legion in Suffolk were angered by an advert placed by Southern Electric trying to attract more customers in the region.
Based on a headline in The Sun newspaper, the advert read: "TXU – Germans are now in power!" referring to its purchaser Powergen being owned by Essen-based E.On.
