IPSWICH Town director Richard Moore is today reeling from the blow of seeing his business fall into administration.

Mr Moore, who joined the Town board in 1994, was the joint partner in the cruise call centre agency Book-n-Go, based in Harlow, Essex.

The company handled bulk bookings for well-known cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Lines.

They already had 900 passengers booked to travel in December.

Rival travel firm Cruise Control, which is run by Mr Moore's son, Paul, is today poised to take over the company. It is thought the Romford-based company is currently in talks to buy the assets of Book-n-Go and take over the travel arrangements of their customers.

Administrators for the company, which employed 60 staff, are due to be named this week.

The company has had its membership with the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) terminated, although its web site was still working as usual today. The telephone number for the company's Harlow headquarters is currently going unanswered.

A spokesman for ABTA said the company had been a member of the organisation, but membership was withdrawn on November 15.

He said: "Book-n-Go was a member of ABTA until we were informed of their insolvency. This will mean that people who booked with the company will either be able to go on holiday as normal or receive a full refund of the money they have paid."

Prior to this business venture, Mr Moore was the head of regional agency chain Intatravel, which was the fourth largest independent travel retailer in the UK at the time of its sale to First Choice, in 1998. Mr Moore is a former pupil of Northgate Grammar School for Boys, in Ipswich.
