PUPILS at the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook were today preparing to greet a royal visitor as The Duke of York flies into Suffolk.
His Royal Highness Prince Andrew was due land in the school playground at 11am today and be shown around the new developments of the school.
The royal visitor was scheduled to then formally open the new development of an upper sixth form boarding house, called Nelson House. The new £1.5million facility, which has taken three years to complete, includes 103 single rooms with shared en suite facilities for upper sixth form boys and girls.
His Royal Highness was also due to visit the school's new Reade Sixth Form Centre to view the facilities and watch a short drama production.
He was scheduled to have lunch with Year 11 pupils before departing the school just before 2pm.
Local primary schools from Holbrook and Stutton were invited to watch His Royal Highness land at the school and line his route to Nelson House, where a plaque was to be unveiled to formally open the new wing.
