POLICE are today hunting a man who threatened a girl as he held a knife to her neck in a busy Ipswich nightclub.The 18-year-old was dancing with friends in Kartouche at about 1am yesterday when she started being harassed by a man.
POLICE are today hunting a man who threatened a girl as he held a knife to her neck in a busy Ipswich nightclub.
The 18-year-old was dancing with friends in Kartouche at about 1am yesterday when she started being harassed by a man.
The teenager, together with her friends repeatedly told the man that she was not interested in him.
He reacted by punching the girl in the chest before he produced a knife from his pocket, held it to her neck and threatened to harm her.
She sought help from staff at he club but the man could not be found.
He is described as white, aged 18 to 20, 5ft 10ins with short brown spiky hair which had a slightly bleached appearance. He was wearing a black polo shirt and jeans.
A spokeswoman for Ipswich Police today said: "This is a particularly nasty incident which left the victim shaken.
"It was a busy night in the club and we would appeal for anybody who knows anything to contact us immediately."
Anyone who was in the Princes Street club and witnessed the incident or anyone who recognises the offender from the description, is asked to contact Ipswich CID on 01473 383133 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
