FIREFIGHTERS from four stations tackled a blaze at a house in Monks Eleigh which was threatening to spread to an adjoining thatched property.
The blaze broke out at The Alley at 10.44pm yesterday crews were called to the scene from Hadleigh, Sudbury, Long Melford and Nayland.
They contained the blaze to the rear of the two-storey building and stopped it from spreading to the thatched home. It was under control just before midnight.
Today emergency services were called to the village again when a lorry, believed to be carrying bread, overturned near the junction of Brent Eleigh.
No one was believed to have been injured but the road was blocked.
