A SUFFOLK road will be closed tomorrow when a windmill cap is delivered to Bardwell from Bury St Edmunds.
The lorry taking the cap will travel via the A143. When it arrives at its destination, School Lane, Bardwell, will be closed as the cap is attached to the windmill.
Police are warning motorists to be aware of the load, which will be nearly four and half metres wide. The exact time of the delivery is not yet known but it is expected to take place after the morning rush hour.
More than £100,000 has been raised by the Friends of Bardwell Windmill after it was originally damaged in the 1987 hurricane. Work is also being carried out on construction of new sails for the windmill.
