ONE of the most prolific bands of the 80s is stopping off for one night at the Regent.
Level 42 spanned the 80s and early 90s with eleven top 20 hits, including Lessons in Love, Running in the Family and Something About You.
Bass player Mark King was nick named Thunder Thumbs due to his distinctive bass playing which characterised the Level 42 sound.
Their fat and funky tunes offered an alternative to the synthesised pop of their contemporaries.
The band formed back in early 1980 and the classically trained foursome soon attracted a following all over Europe.
Their first single Love Games, released in the summer of 81 was adopted by many as a celestial pop classic.
The band split up in 1994 and played their last concert at the Royal Albert Hall in October 1994.
But now Mark King has resurrected their sound and they are back at the Regent on November 8.
