INVESTIGATIONS were today continuing following the second death on Suffolk's railway network in the space of four days.
The emergency services were called to the main London to Norwich line near Brantham at about 6.30pm yesterday after a man was struck by a train and killed.
A British Transport Police spokesman said the man had been hit by the 5.10pm London Liverpool Street to Ipswich train and the incident had caused delays of up to an hour on the rail network.
He added an investigation had been launched into the events leading to the fatal collision, but stressed the man's death was not being treated as suspicious.
The spokesman said the man would not been named until he had been formally identified and his next of kin informed.
It is the second death on the East Anglian rail network, following the death of a 16-year-old boy near Stowmarket on Thursday.
The boy, who has not been named, but who comes from Bedfordshire, was struck by the 9.43pm Ipswich to Cambridge train on the railway line alongside the B1113 outside Stowmarket.
