PEACE lover and man of faith, Max Wootton who was awarded an MBE for his voluntary services to the community, has died aged 92.Mr Wootton, a hospital administrator, passed away on October 7 and lived all his life in the Ipswich and Felixstowe area.
PEACE lover and man of faith, Max Wootton who was awarded an MBE for his voluntary services to the community, has died aged 92.
Mr Wootton, a hospital administrator, passed away on October 7 and lived all his life in the Ipswich and Felixstowe area. He received his commendation from the Queen in June 2000.
An active member of the community, Mr Wootton was a member of the Liberal Democrat party, Toc H, the League of Nations Union, a founder member of the Ipswich branch of the United Nations Association as well as a Ipswich Borough Councillor for the Rushmere ward in the 1960s.
He also served as a deacon, church secretary and church warden of Christ Church, Tacket Street, Ipswich.
Mr Wootton will be dearly missed by his widower Patricia, his son, daughter and five grandchildren.
