ONE of Britain's most notorious serial sex offenders is living out of an Ipswich police cell.
Rapist Steven Beech, 38, convicted of 115 offences – the majority of them sex crimes – but now a free man, is voluntarily staying at the town's police station from where he can technically come and go as he pleases.
It is believed he is being supervised by police officers 24 hours a day, but his case today highlights the extreme difficulties facing the authorities – particularly police forces – when a high-risk sex attacker turns up on their doorstep.
