Christians from across the denominations joined together for an outdoor service on Felixstowe seafront yesterday.
Praise on the Prom was organised by the Churches Together in Felixstowe group, and featured the Joint Churches Worship Big Band as well as guest speaker Josh Hunt, the chaplain at the Felixstowe Academy.
There was also a drama performance and talks by the town pastor team.
An estimated 500 people joined the celebration event.
Held in the Seafront Gardens, the rain held off for the afternoon service with the sun even making an appearance at the beginning of the event.
Chris Rayner, chief organiser and musical director, said: “It’s great to do something with a churches without walls theme, doing something fun, up-tempo and vibrant – rather than the solemn things you might associate with churches.
“I think we achieved that today.
“There was a very good atmosphere, and there were a lot of people involved.
“It was also a beautiful environment for the service.”
