Ipswich Rotarians compete in a Mastermind event
Rotarians from the four clubs in Ipswich got together for a fun and fundraising Mastermind quiz evening.
Dorothy Pulsford-Harris, District Governor Elect for District 1080 presented the Mastermind Bowl to inaugural winner David King, the immediate past president of the organising club, Ipswich Orwell.
The contest was held at the St Raphael Club, Ipswich in a replica of the Mastermind set, with the same time limits for the questioning.
David scored an impressive total of 30 points with 9 passes, including a quick-fire 16 points on the Morse novels of Colin Dexter.
The three other equally brave representatives who took to the chair were David Knowles (Ipswich Wolsey Rotary Club), Toby Pound (Ipswich East) and Michael Warren (Ipswich). Their specialist subjects were International Cuisine, classical music and garden plants.
The well attended evening raised some £800 towards Ipswich Orwell’s Dyslexia Resource Boxes project, a teaching aid for primary and secondary school children in Suffolk.
Organiser, and quizmaster, Russell Leeburn said: “It was a very successful evening, which also very enjoyable. It is hoped to make the contest an annual event.”
