Glorious sunshine blazed down on thousands of people enjoying the annual Lark in the Park fun day.
Chantry Residents’ Association held its 13th fun day in Gippeswyk Park over the weekend with around 2,000 people packing into the park including Ipswich mayor Hamil Clarke.
Charles Moore, chairman of the association, said: “It was a fantastic day and the weather really helped.
“It was definitely more successful than last year when it poured.”
Attractions included a bouncy castle, coconut shy, bungee jump rides and it’s a knockout for youngsters as well as a five-a-side football tournament.
Lark in the Park was set up to raise money for residents in Chantry – to help provide financial funding for children’s parties.
The event also supports the running of the community shop in Lavender Hill, which has been going since 1998.
The event aims to involve the community as much as possible, including pupils at nearby Chantry High School.
