In our continuing trip down memory lane we bring you these pictures.
This week we bring you images of Britannia Beavers and Scouts in April 1986, tree planting in Christchurch Park and a fashion show in aid of Help the Aged. Are you in any of the pictures?
Along with these we also found pictures of Ipswich Choral Society rehearsals in April 1986, a new slide for the Buttons and Bows Playgroup in Ipswich, an insurance company cheque presentation to the hospice and Rachael Sloane, the author of a children’s book in 1986. Do these events spark memories?
Meanwhile, we have heard from an anonymous contributor after we published a picture from 1983 of the Lait Dancing School last month.
The letter writer says: “This picture of the Lait Dancing School is notable because it shows a very young Bruce and Annette, son and daughter of Tom and Pat Lait who run the school.
“Today, Bruce and Annette are involved with the continuing success of the Lait Dancing School.
“The picture is most notable however because it shows an 11-year-old Joanne Bolton who went on to become the world’s number one dancer by winning all major championships around the world.
“Tom and Pat are extremely proud that a four-year-old Joanne who went to their school to learn how to dance should go on to become a world champion.”
