NEW bus shelters are being installed around the town on some of its busiest bus routes.
The shelters are being installed at a cost of £70,000 by the borough. Some of the money has been given by developers as part of their planning conditions and the rest has come from general funds.
Among the routes to get the new shelters are part of Felixstowe Road and Norwich Road.
A spokesman for the borough said the shelters were ready to have real-time information screens fitted, but it was up to the county council whether this should be extended outside the town centre.
The shelters do have seats for passengers to rest while waiting for their bus.
They are direct replacements for existing bus stops. No stops are being removed from the town’s network.
