SUFFOLK: After a day of clearing the worst of the snow from the region’s roads, people are preparing to return to work through the first snowfall of the winter.
Gritters have been out on the roads and teachers and caretakers spent yesterday trying to ensure that schools would be able to open as normal on Monday.
Meanwhile Ipswich Hospital is on alert for a busy day – treating people who have suffered injuries in the cold and anyone who may be suffering from hypothermia.
Across the area, people have taken advantage of the snow to have fun – and our readers have been sending in dozens of pictures to our iWitness website.
But while Sunday was the day for fun in the snow, Monday will be the day of reckon as the county struggles to get back to work.
If you have any great pictures of the snow, send them in to our website through the iWitness link on our home page. Charley Griffin took this great picture of a confused heron trying to work out how to get to its fishy meal in Chantry Park in Ipswich.
