A 20-year-old man has been convicted of attempting to rape a teenage girl at a house in Ipswich.
But Jamie Dyer was yesterday found not guilty of a charge of rape and another of attempted rape.
He has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced in the week commencing October 31.
Dyer, of Parker Way, Halstead, had pleaded not guilty to all three offences which were alleged to have been committed at a house in Khartoum Road, Ipswich in August last year.
During the trial at Ipswich Crown Court the prosecution described the alleged victim as “particularly vulnerable.”
After his arrest Dyer had denied doing anything more than kissing the girl while she was sitting on his lap.
