78,000 people are living in poverty across the county and some areas host the worst deprivation in the UK, a report has revealed.
Cambridge University research has highlighted parts of Suffolk are in need of local and national funding in an investigation commissioned by The Suffolk Foundation.
Parts of Ipswich and Waveney are counted among most deprived parts of the UK with one in four children living in poverty, academics found.
In addition, more than seven per cent of young people are not in education, employment or training - one of the highest rates for rural England .
The report is intended to highlight where money is needed to the Foundation so it can tackle these social and economic problems.
