IPSWICH: A mother has today told of her heartache and dismay after thieves broke into her car and stole a bag containing pictures of her stillborn baby.

Imogen Clarke and partner Dean Wilson, 34, visited a tree planted in Holywells Park in memory of her baby daughter Neve on Mothering Sunday. However it was a visit that would bring back sad memories and cause yet more anguish and distress.

On January 23, 2010, Miss Clarke endured a 13-hour labour in Ipswich Hospital – only to be left heartbroken over the death of her daughter.

Following months of heartache, the 33-year-old, of Christchurch Street, became pregnant again and on January 5 she gave birth to little baby Tullulah.

But she has been left in shock after she discovered a bag containing her lasting memories of Neve were snatched when thieves broke into her Ford Focus.

The pictures had been saved on a camera memory card.

She said: “After visiting Neve’s tree in Holywells Park on Mother’s Day, we headed back to the car which was parked in Mrytle Road and found that someone had smashed a window in and stolen my bag and everything in it.

“I didn’t necessarily care about the bag but in my purse there was pictures of Tullulah and an SD card full of pictures of Neve.

“I have always taken them with me so this is really upsetting to think that I might not see the card again.

“My bag was found in an alleyway near to the park, but I really just want the SD card return, I just don’t want to lose the pictures of Neve.

“Everything else is replacable, but the card isn’t.”

Miss Clarke said that she hoped whoever had the card would return it as soon as possible.

Also stolen from the bag was her purse and digital camera.

Police have appealed for information following the incident, which they believe to have happened between 3.45pm and 4.15pm on Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Timothy Gregory at the South East Ipswich Safer Neighbourhood Team on 01473 613500.
