SUFFOLK: A pair of drink-drivers are today starting road bans after being caught behind the wheel while over the limit.
Reece Nunn and Barry Warburton are also out of pocket after both pleading guilty to drink driving offences at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court.
Warburton, of Hall Pound Way, Felixstowe, was riding his motorbike along Hawthorn Way, in Felixstowe, on May 8, when he was stopped by police officers.
Prosecutor Lesla Small said the 41-year-old had drunk two pints of beer and a large rum in the British Legion Club before taking to the road.
A breath test showed he had 69 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Warburton told the court: “I’m just very sorry and I know that I shouldn’t have done it.”
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined 100 and ordered to pay costs of 85.
Nunn, of Elmhurst Drive, Ipswich, was stopped by police at 6am, on May 7, in London Road on his way to work.
Prosecutor Lesla Small said the 22-year-old had drunk alcohol the night before and was stopped by police because he was speeding.
A breath test showed he had 59 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
John Hughes, for Nunn, said: “He had been drinking the night before and did not think he would still be over the limit. It was an error of judgement on his part and it’s a lesson learned for him.”
Nunn was banned for 12 months, fined 200 and ordered to pay costs of 85.
