TWO lion cubs at Africa Alive! are set to celebrate their first birthday on Friday.
KESSINGLAND: Two lion cubs at Africa Alive! are set to celebrate their first birthday on Friday.
Keepers at the Kessingland park have brought the two cubs, named Kaya and Jabu, a special giant “boomer” ball for all the lions to play with.
The boomer balls are designed to increase environmental and behavioural enrichment by allowing the animals to act and hunt in a closer way to how they would in the wild.
Lynne Wilshaw, marketing manager of Africa Alive! said: “The idea of the boomer ball is that it allows them to practice their jumping skills and helps improve balance and build up muscle tone and strengthen jaws.”
Despite being a year old this week the pair are still closely watched by mum, Little Mo, and dad, Zero.
The cubs and their family, who are a visitor favourite at the park, will be given their gifts at 10.15am on Friday.
