A MAN from Colchester has been charged with a number of offences after being arrested following a robbery in Basildon.
Jay Williams, of Military Road, has been remanded in police custody and is to appear before magistrates in Basildon this morning
He has been charged with three counts of robbery relating to offences which took place at Subway in Pitsea Broadway on February 2, the BP petrol station in Nethermayne, Basildon on February 6 and at Coral Racing bookmakers in Wickford on February 3/
He has also been charged with one count of attempted robbery in connection with the incident at the Asda petrol station in Eastgate, Basildon on Sunday, and with possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place in connection with the same incident.
