NORFOLK: A police officer and five people have been taken to hospital following a car crash on the A11 today.
The incident took place on the Norwich-bound carriageway near Wymondham at around 2.30pm.
An air ambulance, police and fire crews attended the scene after a marked police car and another vehicle collided.
The driver of the police car, which was fending off vehicles following a break-down further along the road, has been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital suffering from neck injuries.
The five occupants of the second car have also been taken to hospital, two are believed to have more serious injuries.
The A11 is currently closed and traffic is being diverted along the old A11 road.
