SUFFOLK was braced for snow this morning as flurries began falling in Felixstowe and Shotley.

John Law, from Norwich-based forecasters Weatherquest, said the temperature overnight had dropped to a chilly -2C and was expected to be two degrees lower tonight.

Mr Law said: “In Ipswich and Suffolk itself it looks like there is more snow coming during the day in the southern and eastern parts of the county.

“It will not be as heavy as in other parts of the country but there will be a good covering and it will be pretty cold.

“The temperature will be around freezing for most places today and the wind will be quite blustery at times so it will feel very cold.

“Going into tomorrow there will be snow showers in the afternoon in eastern Suffolk.

“Everyone needs to layer up in warm clothes.”
