SUFFOLK Police are today warning the public of a scam which is being sent through email.

There have been reports regarding a scam email from HM Revenue & Customs stating that the recipient is eligible for a tax rebate.

The email address to be wary of is securemail@hmrc.gov.uk.

On opening the email it then asks you to click on a link and a list of banks will appear. After selecting your bank you are then asked to input your bank details.

HM Revenue & Customs have confirmed that the email was not sent by them.

Suffolk Constabulary is advising anyone who receives this email to delete it and not to enter any personal details.
