IPSWICH Town defender Tommy Smith has completed a one-month loan move to League One club Brentford.
Centre-half Smith, who has not played for Town since the 1-1 draw at Plymouth on October 24, is training with the Bees today.
"It's a chance for me to go out and play some first team football.
That's what I need at the moment," admitted Smith.
The 19-year-old has struggled to force his way into the team since a spell on the sidelines through injury. Pim Balkestein returned from his own six-week stay at Brentford recently, while Gareth McAuley and Damien Delaney have been the regular centre-half partnership in recent weeks, with fellow centre-half Alex Bruce also waiting in the wings.
