JACK Colback today stressed that he has no intention of walking out on the Blues.

The 20-year-old scored the first goal in Town's 2-1 FA Cup third round victory at fellow Championship side Blackpool on Saturday.

A deal has been agreed between Ipswich manager Roy Keane and his Sunderland counterpart Steve Bruce to extend Colback's loan at Portman Road to the end of the season.

But there is immediate recall clause included as the terms of the loan are for a youth player, which demands this condition.

“The Sunderland squad is a bit thin at the moment with injuries,“ said Colback, who also netted against Blackpool in the home league 3-1 victory last month.

“But there is no guarantee I would be playing and I'm not walking away from Ipswich.

“This is a fantastic club that is starting to make progress and I want to be part of that for this season.

“I want to play more games and make more starts and push on in my career.

“Playing regularly in the Championship is what I am enjoying doing, and I don't want to go back and sit in the Sunderland reserves.”

Colback, who was involved in when Blackpool had their first player sent off, was delighted to have found the net for the third time this campaign.

He went on: “I was over the moon to score but the most important thing is to do well for the team.

“I drifted in from the left and the ball fell nicely for me. I don't mind how they go in as long as the hit the back of the net.

“When Ian Evatt was contesting for the ball I thought he was going to get there first. But he didn't and although he touched the ball he also brought me down.

“The second sending off was clear-cut with Jon Walters taken down as he was breaking free. Blackpool can have no complaints about that.

“Brett Ormerod was looking for a penalty when he went down under a challenge from Arran Lee-Barrett and you sometimes get those penalty decisions.

“We should have kept the ball better when Blackpool were down to 10 men and Blackpool used their width well for much of the game.

“But we'll take the win and get off home.“

Colback is spending a couple of days at home in the north east before coming back to Suffolk to prepare for Sunday's league game at Leicester City.
