Ipswich has been named as the fifth safest city in the UK for road accidents.
New figures were published today in a report by the insurance firm Endsleigh, revealing the safest and riskiest UK towns and cities.
The three safest towns in the UK are Belfast, Bangor and Swansea.
The three riskiest are Slough, Bradford and Birmingham.
East Anglia was named as the safest region in England.
The area accounted for three out of only four English towns and cities that appeared in the top ten - Ipswich, Cambridge and Norwich.
The report ranks town and cities by comparing the frequency of accident claims between towns and cities in order to determine risk, rather than looking at the total number of accidents.
