COMMUTERS travelling to work in London this morning are facing delays of up to 40 minutes.
The hold-ups are due to signalling problems in the Witham area.
Train operator National Express East Anglia is warning people to expect to be delayed by up to 40 minutes, and added the delays are expected to continue until around 8am.
Earlier this morning, over running engineering works added to the problems, resulting in several services being cancelled during the rush hour.
The over-running work was in the Colchester area. A spokesman for National Express East Anglia said engineers worked as fast as possible to restore services to normal.
Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected as a result.
The knock-on effects have caused chaos for people trying to get to work in the capital this morning.
