FORMER England Under-21 manager Peter Taylor will NOT be joining Roy Keane's coaching staff at Portman Road, the club has revealed.
An Ipswich Town spokesman confirmed that talks with Taylor had taken place.
He added: “Ipswich can confirm that Peter Taylor will not be joining the coaching staff at Portman Road.
“Senior management staff at the club and Mr Taylor this week held discussions over a possible role in support of the coaching team. “However, there will be no further progression of those talks. The club wish Peter Taylor success in his future career.”
Earlier in the week, Taylor revealed that he had spoken to Town manager Roy Keane after being spotted watching the recent Swansea and Watford games at Portman Road.
