AN 18-year-old man from the Colchester area was airlifted to hospital today with life threatening injuries following a crash.The man was with two friends riding off-road bikes in Rectory Road, Rowhedge, when he appears to have lost control and crashed into fencing at around 11.30am.

AN 18-year-old man from the Colchester area was airlifted to hospital today with life threatening injuries following a crash.

The man was with two friends riding off-road bikes in Rectory Road, Rowhedge, when he appears to have lost control and crashed into fencing at around 11.30am today. He was flown by air ambulance to the London Hospital at Whitechapel and his condition is described as critical.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area around 11am today, and saw the bikes or the incident, to contact the road policing unit at Stanway on 0300 3334444.
