STEVE Vale, a Chantry boy who played up front when Ipswich Town won the FA Youth Cup for the first time in 1973, collapsed and died suddenly on Saturday morning.
He never played professionally for the Blues but carried on playing in local football on Saturdays and Sundays and later ran a trophy business.
