IPSWICH MP Chris Mole has been promoted in Gordon Brown's shake-up of junior ministers following the upheaval in the Cabinet last week.
Mr Mole has moved to the Department for Transport with responsibility for the national networks of motorways and railways. At present, he is the parliamentary private secretary to minister of state at the Department for Communities.
“I was pleasantly surprised to receive the call from Downing Street,” said Mr Mole, who last week gave his full support for embattled Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
