Most households expect a handful of trick or treaters, but one man is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of visitors to his Halloween house of horror.

Lorrie Thackeray’s reputation for his scary show goes before him and people eagerly await the chance to see how he has transformed his home in Peterhouse Crescent, Woodbridge, into a place for ghosts, ghouls, blood and gore.

He said: “Last year we had around 250 people and raised £250 for Macmillan.

“People ask me months in advance about what is happening for Halloween. I am expecting even more people this year and donations will be for Help for Heroes.”

The house – reputed to be the scariest in Suffolk – will open from around 5pm on Monday.

Visitors can expect spine-tingling scenes and some big frights around every corner as they make their way around the property.

There is a haunted house and zombie area, a bathroom of blood and a dark circus with clowns, some of whom have not been receiving the best publicity recently for their antics elsewhere, and many more surprises along the way.

Mr Thackeray said: “I try to make it a little different every year and keep adding more and more stuff. This is the third year and I think people are really going to enjoy it.”
