Ipswich: Sproughton Road closed due to flooding

Sproughton Road, just outside of the town centre, was almost impassable on Thursday afternoon.

Road closure signs were placed near the Morrisons roundabout and Farthing Road.

Although the road was closed, a number of drivers were seen passing through.  

Foxhall recycling centre, on the outskirts of Ipswich, was also affected by the flooding between the wood bins and bottle banks, though the site remained open.

Suffolk was battered by heavy rain for most of the Thursday, with several roads around the county flooded due to the torrential downpours.
