A Suffolk woman is trying to win a share of £120,000 on a new hit BBC One programme.

Head of school welfare at a Suffolk school Fay is one of 22 contestants competing on the show Traitors.  

During the show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, three contestants are selected to be traitors while the remaining members have the task of working out who the traitors are. 

Each night the traitor's 'murder' one faithful off the show. 

In most episodes, the group gathers at the Round Table to discuss who they suspect of being a Traitor and have the opportunity to “banish” a contestant, eliminating them from the game. 

If the faithful successfully banish all the traitors then the remaining win and walk away with the prize money. 

Asked why she applied for the show she said: "The concept was obviously very appealing. I'm also coming to the end of my long and wonderful career in education.

"I've been at the same establishment for 29 years.

"I worked myself through the steps, I started on the ground floor and every five years my job evolved, where now I'm at the top of my game, I'm on the senior leader team.

The head of school welfare said she prepared for the show. 

She said she would go on a "wonderful" holiday if she won a share of the money.
