A large fire broke out at a home in Ipswich.

Emergency services were called to Spring Road, near the roundabout with Woodbridge Road and Woodbridge Road East, at about 4pm on Friday.

A total of six fire engines were sent to the scene of the blaze and an aerial ladder platform was used.

A spokesman for Suffolk County Council said that the fire had broken out at a mid-terraced house.

Suffolk police confirmed that Spring Road was closed between Woodbridge Road East and Britannia Road.

On Twitter, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service warned people to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.

There are no reported casualties, but an ambulance crew was present.
