Plans for 15 more parking spaces and 12 electric vehicle charging points at an Ipswich retail park have been approved.

Anglia Retail Park will soon benefit from the reconfiguration of the south-east corner of the car park, which will include adding four more blue badge and another four parent and child parking spaces.

Ipswich residents will also be able to use 12 fast EV charging points located at the car park.

As part of the development, the site will also see new hedgerows and six trees planted to replace the three being removed to create additional parking spaces.

Colin Kreidewolf, the chairman of Ipswich Borough Assets, said: “We’re pleased to see our drive for sustainable energy coming to fruition.

“These fast EV chargers will provide visitors with the opportunity to shop and dine at one of the many eateries located at Anglia Retail Park, all secure in the knowledge their car is safely charging.

“As we see more and more electric vehicles on the road, we’re pleased to be able to welcome visitors to the retail park by offering motorist more choice.”
