A man was allegedly punched in the face by the passenger of a learner driver in Kesgrave.
The incident happened at about 8pm on Monday, February 6 on the A1214 Main Road.
According to Suffolk police, a man aged in his 20s was driving his car behind a silver Vauxhall Astra in the direction of Martlesham.
As the vehicles approached the traffic lights at Bell Lane, a male passenger of the Astra reportedly got out of the car, approached the victim and punched him in the face, Suffolk police said.
The suspect is described as white, between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall, bald and of stocky build.
He was wearing a dark tracksuit, police added.
Police believe the driver of the Vauxhall Astra to be a learner driver as the car was displaying an 'L' plate at the rear of the vehicle.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Witnesses or anyone with information should contact the Crime Co-ordination Centre at Suffolk police, quoting crime reference number 37/8135/23.
