An application has been made to build five houses in Otley, two years after it was previously refused.

In 2014 an application was made to East Suffolk Council to demolish buildings and build a new site comprising of 35 houses.

The application was granted, however, there is still a plot of land next to the redevelopment that is vacant.

An application to build five houses on the space was submitted and refused in March 2021.

A new application for five single-storey houses has now been made, with parking for every house.

Four of the houses will have three bedrooms, with one being a single-bed bungalow.

Each house will be equipped with two parking spaces, including one being a dedicated electronic vehicle point.

They will also come with a lockable area for cycle storage, and the three-bedroom bungalows will have a garage.

The application was refused as, in 2021, it would have caused a loss of employment for those working on the site and there was a failure to submit information regarding potential disturbance to habitat sites.

These concerns are no longer an issue due to the site not being used by anyone in employment.
