An Ipswich bar at the centre of a viral TikTok video has thanked its creators for their support, with the owner even praising their "innovation".

Maisy Armstrong, 19, and her friend Harriet Baillie, 20, were on a night out in Bar Twenty One in St Nicholas Street last month when they filmed themselves hiding their coats in the toilet walls of the venue - only to later discover them missing.

The girls, whose coats were later recovered by staff, saw the video receive a huge response on TikTok, amassing more than 2.5million views.

Maisy, a trainee yachtswoman, said the decision to post the video was more spur of the moment and wasn't planned.

"At the time, we didn't really think it was that funny to be honest," she said.

"We initially decided to just film it.

"But then we put it on TikTok and it went viral."

Bar Twenty One owner Gareth Harper said: "Obviously we don't condone people pulling off panels, but I found it quite clever and innovative.

"It even made me wonder if they'd like a job here!

"But I want to say a huge thank you to them for supporting us and helping us to go viral.

"They're welcome back anytime."
