An intruder fled from the scene of a burglary after being interrupted by a resident.

The incident happed in Rushmere Road, Ipswich, between 1.10pm and 2.50pm on Monday.

According to Suffolk police, a man entered a bedroom at a property and was disturbed by a resident who was at home.

The intruder then left the house via the front door.

He is described as mixed race, about 6ft tall and had a beard/facial hair.

He was wearing a black beanie hat.

Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses or people in the area at the time to come forward.
